Pitch

Historically, New York Housing Authority (NYCHA) residents have faced maintenance issues, discrimination, and lived in buildings that are falling apart. As climate change progresses in New York City, NYCHA residents now have a more significant threat to their livelihood: their buildings’ infrastructure is not prepared to combat a warming planet. I want to cover this story because low-income New Yorkers are the first people who will be affected by climate change. My story is relevant because climate change is the most pressing issue of our time and should be at the forefront of each of our minds daily.
